Honeymooner
Ladies—for it is you who call the shots here—may we ask you to entrust your honeymoon arrangements to our well-worn hands? They say that only the wise learn from their mistakes—so this must make me the Sage of Portrush, for I made the mistake of "organising" my first honeymoon (result:disaster) and left the second one to the present Mrs. Courtney (outcome: success.)
We do not promise you a rose garden—at least, we don't promise that it will not rain in your rose garden, for this is Ireland but we do promise you that we will use all of our considerable contacts to make sure that our suppliers know you are special to us and that we expect you to be treated accordingly.
Unlike other operators who rely on phone and email, we travel the country and press the flesh on your behalf: week in and week out. Between us, David and I (aided and abetted by the lovely Sandra and Carol) have travelled over 400,000 miles in our ten years of operation and we have built up a network of people whom we treat well and who, in turn, really do look after our guests.
If you want a castle, we have them in abundance. If you want luxury hotels, we'll guide you to the people—not the places—who will take good care of you. And if you want to see the romantic Ireland of history, we'll steer you away from the shopping malls and the gridlock to quieter locations.
And at all times, we will be watching out for you. We'll lend you a cell phone so that you can keep in touch with home—or with us, if you want to. And if we can't be there in person, you can rest assured that we will be calling your hotels regularly, just to make sure that all is well.
Our "thank you" file is not a boast: it is merely a record that we did our job— and did it well.
