Lynchpin Tours, Ltd.

Golf Tours: Itinerary

Sample Itinerary: To the ends of the earth tour!

DAY 1: GOING TO IRELAND

Depart on your trip to Ireland.

DAY 2: WELCOME TO IRELAND: DUBLIN AND GALWAY
Meals: Dinner at Meyrick Hotel
Accommodation: 3/4 Star Meyrick Hotel in Galway

Arrive Dublin at breakfast time and transfer to Galway city. Allow 4 hours, although the new freeway will help. Afternoon free in Galway to adjust clock and go out "on the lash" in Galway city. The Meyrick Hotel is the former Great Southern (beside the railway station) in the city centre. Good old 3-4 star. Dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 3: THE BEAUTY OF CONNEMARA
Golf: Connemara Golf Club (Links)
Meals: Breakfast in Galway, Dinner at Renvyle Country House in Clifden
Accommodation: Renvyle Country House in Clifden

Travel west for about 2 hours till you pass the last town—Clifden—and finally come to the Eddie Hackett wonder which is Connemara Golf Club at Ballyconeely. A fabulous place on the edge of the world. Afterwards, short transfer to the last of the great Irish country house hotels—Renvyle. Unique and never to be repeated.

DAY 4: WONDERFUL WESTPORT
Golf: Westport Golf Club (Parkland)
Meals: Breakfast at Renvyle House
Accommodation: Adare House B&B in Clifden

Transfer to Westport, capital of the Far West. The drive itself is through the Connemara National park and is out of this world. Golf at Westport Golf Club which, although it is parkland, is par 73 and is not for mugs. Overnight at a cosy B&B (Adare House).

DAY 5: THE END OF THE WORLD
Golf: Carne Golf Club (Links)
Meals: Breakfast at Adare House, Dinner at Stella Maris Country House
Accommodation: Stella Maris Country House Hotel in Ballycastle

Transfer along the coast through the nothingness that is Mayo to the end of the world: Belmullet. The golf course is called Carne and whilst the first nine are tough enough, the second nine are off the planet. (Rarely have I drooled over a golf course but this is it. Especially if there is a wee breeze—like 40 mph, for instance). After golf, drive along the coast to Ballycastle to the Stella Maris Country House Hotel, voted Best Hideaway in 2006. Top notch.

DAY 6: ALONG THE COAST TO SLIGO
Golf: Enniscrone Golf Club (Links)
Meals: Breakfast at Stella Maris, Dinner at Radisson Hotel
Accommodation: New Radison Hotel in Sligo

Transfer along the north coast via Ballina to Enniscrone, another good links course. Then on eastwards to Sligo for two nights B&B at the new Radisson, built between the town and Rosses Point. All glass and wood but very comfortable and in a good location.

DAY 7: SLIGO AND STRANDHILL
Golf: Strandhill Golf Club (Links)
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner at Radisson Hotel
Accommodation: New Radison Hotel in Sligo

Play the "other" Sligo course—Strandhill—which is no easy track. Afternoon free in town and B&B at the Radisson. For a drink in a real pub, go to Hardigan's.

DAY 8: ROSSES POINT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT
Golf: County Sligo a.k.a. Rosses Point (Links)
Meals: Breakfast at Radisson Hotel, Dinner at Clarion Hotel
Accommodation: Clarion Hotel at Dublin Airport

Play County Sligo (Rosses Point). One of the granddaddies of them all. Magnificent. Afternoon transfer for 3 hours down the main road to B&B at the Clarion Hotel at Dublin Airport. Tried and tested.

DAY 9: DEPARTURE
Meals: Breakfast at Clarion Hotel

Limo to departures at Dublin Airport.
